Success story: Data Management at Schaeffler Group
Nowadays, Data Management is an inherent key success factor to companies in all industries and is gaining importance. Integrated high end data-quality facilitates industry 4.0, advanced analytics, efficient end-to-end processes, digital business models, smart products and machine learning. The globally active automobile and industrial supplier Schaeffler recognized this potential early on and started professionally managing data over ten years ago. For its continued success, Schaeffler already received two Good Practice Awards. In this ePaper, Schaeffler shares how they gained advantage with cost reduction and gained efficiency by sharing data. Another success story is coming your way soon during the webinar with Schwarz Group on September 29.
From Data Management to Data Sharing
In addition to great efforts in many different areas of corporate data management, the company also took advantage of the CDQ Data Excellence Model and best practices provided by the CC CDQ. To manage the increasing amount of data and to face the inherent challenges, Schaeffler finally started using the so-called shareconomy. The company decided to join the CDQ Data Sharing Community to optimize vendor and customer data, a domain where the member companies jointly manage their master data and take care of its maintenance collaboratively. As a result of this approach, participating companies do not only save time and effort but also costs while at the same time improving their data quality.
